I LOVE this piece! I play wolves, and of course my best friend plays DA, so the comment about penance is awesomely funny too! I must admit tho - penance should be more Wolves! Keep up the awesome work!
For Russ and the Allfather! a most delightful piece on a space wolf. and you make the armour and him seem somewhat.....agh! whats the word im looking for?...blah! anywho you don't make him look like his drowning in the armour or the armour is choking him. it looks..organic, ergonomic, a perfect fit one would say.
I have to say, the artwork here is absolutely outstanding. The amount of detail you worked into the picture is jaw-dropping. The Space Wolves pauldron, the Shadowclaw, the Seawolf totem (I can't tell you how pleased I was to see that included), all of them look gorgeous. I like the details you added, like the teeth hanging off the chainsword, the oath papers and the hazard sign on the jump pack. You even got his fangs in the picture without making them comically oversized. The impact scarring is a little out of character (Torin is very fastidious when it comes to his equipment) but that's okay. Can't run maintenance every night.
My thanks and my absolute highest compliments on your artwork. Your talent is unquestionable and the results are fantastic.
And much love to a Dark Angels brother! Seriously. You guys kick ass.
Thanks! I've only recently started playing around with half-toning. The color thing is really more of my avoidance of doing actual color. I go mono/duo chrome because frankly I'm horrible with color theory.
SW: Jajajaja, Son of the Lion. How does it feel to be featured on the Fenris wolves battle group? 100 Dark Angels you say? Your full Raven wing could could not out run the Pride and pleasure you have given us today.
I don't tend to put many of my studies up on the boards here. I save that kind of thing for more workshop themed sites like ConceptArt.org and PencilJack.com.
I'm launching a study right now on hands and feet, since they're giving me a particular headache right now. Doing it in a round about way though. I'm going to practice drawing hands and feet as drawn by other artists that I like. I know the anatomy of a hand and a foot... but it's not helping me render them.
So I'm going to look at practical application of that knowledge by others and see if something finally gels.
